DAY 19 – SUNDAY 9/13/15 – NEW ORLEANS, LA TO HOUSTON, TX
September 13, 2015
Road Trip 2015
-
Going to try something different for this post, as well. Excuse my creative urges. *Note – these events are not in order.
Actually left for Houston at 10:15 am.
B Dubs in Lafayette, LA for lunch. Super crowded because of Sunday NFL games.
Couldn’t see Bonnie Ewing that night because we came back to Brad’s house around 1:30 am and she was fast asleep.
Discovery Green Park. Lots of kids and families there. Really cool place for that kind of stuff.
Empty. This is what Houston is like on a Sunday evening after a Texans game.
Free parking on Sundays!
Going to Austin tomorrow to see my cousin Sarah Beck and old friend Dan Ecoff who we haven’t seen since 2011!
Homeless people (see Main Street).
I think Alex is fatter than I am, but he disagrees. Boy, is he wrong!
Just kidding! Alex knows he’s fatter than I am!
Kirby Ave (?) had THE NICEST houses in Houston. We took this road to meet Brad at Little Woodrow’s.
Little Woodrow’s bar with Brad @ 11:30 pm for a drink and catch up.
Main Street is not only where the downtown tram thing runs but also where all of the homeless people in Houston asked for our money!
Nothing was open for dinner that was recommended to us by the time we finished at Starbucks. Rats!
One-way streets. The backbone of downtown Houston’s infrastructure.
Phoenicia Market in downtown Houston. Cool local supermarket with a market bar and live band.
Quite a lot of office buildings in downtown Houston. Not very residential.
Rice University is absolutely gorgeous! We did a driving tour but it was in a beautiful location. And the stadium was really cool from outside.
Starbucks let us mooch their outlets and free WiFi for about 2 hours while we planned our road trip and waited for Brad to get back from Tennessee. Productive and free!
Texas Fire po’ boy and loaded pollo bullets at BB’s Café for a late dinner at 10:15 pm.
Up @ 9:15 am to leave for Houston.
Very comfortable couch and blanket at Brad’s house for me while Alex had the guest room.
Walked back to Brad’s house with the man himself after the bar because there was no way he and I were fitting in Lelchuk’s front seat.
X Men was not a video game featured at Little Woodrow’s. However, they had Donkey Kong, but the joystick was messed up.
You’re awesome for reading this post. But sadly, this is…
Z END!
