DAY 6 – MONDAY 8/31/15 – MIAMI, FL

Road Trip 2015

Yep. We woke up late again. Team Handsome arose from our peaceful slumber around 11:30 am. Let’s go permanent vacation! When I walked into Alex’s room he was watching Home Alone 2. Power move, Lel. So we watched that for a bit before getting ready and heading out to lunch.
We got to China Pavilion at 1 pm with Alex’s parents, and Andrew came a little late. We got dim sum and shared a lot (standard for us). Steamed pork buns, shrimp dumplings, beef chow mein, shumai. There was a lot, and to our credit we ate most it. There was some little girl at the table next to us listening to THE MOST obnoxious Asian children’s song on her iPad on repeat the entire meal. DAY 5 – SUNDAY 8/30/15 – MIAMI, FL

Road Trip 2015 -
We. Slept. In. Until. 11:30 am. LET’S GO! Felt so well rested when I woke up today. Andrew’s bed was so comfortable. I honestly would have slept well on anything having just driven basically the entire state of Florida, but the comfy bed really did the trick. We unloaded Alex’s car, got changed and got our lives together and made our way to Andrew’s apartment, arriving around 1:30 pm.
Andrew’s new place at Nova was really nice! His dog Tyson greeted us as soon as we entered. Pretty sure he jumped up and tapped Alex in the nuts. Good dog. We also met Andrew’s friend who was studying for the same med school test. We hung out there for a bit when we received a call from Lauren saying she wasn’t able to meet up for lunch with us. Would’ve loved to dine with her, but oh well...

DAY 4 – SATURDAY 8/29/15 – ATLANTA, GA TO MIAMI, FL

Road Trip 2015 -
Last night Alex and I shared Cole’s bed which was SUPER comfortable. We weren’t sure at first if it would fit us both, but it did, comfortably. Went to bed on the later side but we’re on indefinite fun-employment vacation so whatever. Got about 6 hours or so of sleep and we were up at 8. Well, I was up at 8. Showered, changed, and got ready to go…while Alex slept. Alex woke up Garrett with “The Duck Song” as he used to do when his boys were campers, said our goodbyes to Ave and Elise and left at 9:30 am.
When deciding where to eat breakfast, G-man casually stated “I’m more of an IHOP guy,” so that was an easy breakfast decision...

DAY 3 – FRIDAY 8/28/15 – ASHEVILLE, NC TO DUNWOODY, GA

Road Trip 2015 -
We finished Ted 2 and fell asleep around 11 pm. We slept pretty well though the ground was hard. We should’ve made our nest more cushy. Oh well. Go up at 7:45 am, cleaned up our area, changed, and hit the road around 8:30 am. Filled up on gas somewhere outside Roanoke, VA for $25!! Got back on the road…stopped at a visitor’s center along the Blue Ridge Parkway so Alex could destroy the facilities around 10:30 am. Damage was done. Drive drive drive…Blue Ridge Music Center at noon for a cheeky visit. Music Mountain Friday was absolutely poppin! Some old time local folks played “Sunny Side of Life” with all their quaint bluegrass instruments. There were about 12 senior citizens in the crowd, so needless to say it was a real riot.

DAY 2 – THURSDAY 8/27/15 – SKYLINE DRIVE + BLUE RIDGE PARKWAY, VIRGINIA

Alarm went off at 7:15 am. Way too early. Struggled to get up because I had eaten candy we got at It Sugar (across the street from Gill’s apartment – awesome selection including HUGE size candy and SNL novelties) and it kept me up later than planned. Showered, got our stuff ready, said bye to that piece of shit Danny Gill who had to go to work and dropped our stuff off in the car. We then walked a few blocks to Lincoln’s Waffle Shop across the street from Ford’s Theater to meet up for breakfast with Alyse La Padula and her gf Britt who were on vacation in the area (found that out via Snapchat – thanks social media!).Breakfast was lovely! Waffle (duh), scrambled eggs, bacon and iced coffee (heavy on the ice)...

DAY 1 – WEDNESDAY 8/26/15 – NEW ROCHELLE, NY TO WASHINGTON DC

Road Trip 2015 -
Alex and I left New Rochelle around 12:30 pm after we stopped for burritos at the Mexican Corner Restaurant and got some supplies at CVS. We made good time getting to Washington DC around 5:30 pm, even though finding parking was a little difficult. We ended up parking at the Gallery Place lot right next to Gill’s apartment, which is where I knew we should park since he’s parked there since he’s lived next to the Verizon Center. We stopped at the Chesapeake Center rest stop for about 10 minutes where I got iced coffee and Alex got pretzels, but besides that we didn’t need to stop on the first leg of our journey.We got into Gill’s apartment around 6 pm...

This is Jake Haskel and Alex Lelchuk, aka Team Handsome. This is our blog for our epic cross country road trip 2015, made by the super talented Alex Lelchuk. We’re going to document and broadcast our journey to all of our friends, family, and most importantly the fans through blog entries and pictures. Obviously most of what we write will revolve around what we eat – classic Team Handsome – but we’ll also include details about where and when we travel and all the amazing people we see.
